Ben Armstrong put together a productive freshman campaign for Illiana Christian, finishing with 27 varsity wins and advancing through the IHSAA state tournament series at 126 pounds.
Armstrong competed for Illiana Christian during the 2025-26 season, wrestling in the sectional and regional rounds with the semi-state hosted at East Chicago Central High School.
The freshman posted a 27-9 varsity record and placed third at sectional before finishing fourth at the Crown Point Regional to extend his postseason. Throughout the year, Armstrong secured multiple decision victories, including wins over Highland’s Josue Ahmad and Whiting’s Kaiden Kender. He also earned a 14-7 decision over Valparaiso’s Sam Platipodis during the state tournament series.
Armstrong faced several ranked opponents during his first varsity season, gaining experience against some of the top wrestlers in the area. He battled competitors from programs such as Crown Point, Lowell, Lake Central and Chesterton, building valuable postseason experience against strong competition.
With a 33-8 overall freshman record and advancement through the state series, Armstrong’s first high school season establishes a strong foundation as he continues his development in the Vikings lineup.
