Illiana Christian secured a 3-0 victory over Crown Point in boys’ soccer, relying on balanced scoring and steady defense. The match took place on Monday, September 29, at Illiana Christian High School.
The Vikings scored first in the opening half with senior Nick Neibert netting the go-ahead goal. In the second half, Illiana extended their lead when senior Grant Terpstra capitalized on a chance. Junior Corban Williams provided an assist, while freshman Gavin Buxton contributed with consistent play in the midfield.
Crown Point managed to generate offensive pressure, recording four shots on goal. However, Illiana’s defense remained solid throughout the evening. Junior goalkeeper Aidan Drost achieved a clean sheet by making six saves to maintain the shutout. Crown Point’s keeper Edward Sundblad made four saves to keep his team competitive for much of the match.
The victory marked another strong performance for Illiana Christian in their late-season form. Meanwhile, Crown Point found encouragement in their moments of possession and resilience despite the final scoreline.
