The Illiana Christian boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams have advanced to Regionals following a successful performance at the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) Sectional meet on October 18. Both teams delivered commendable performances, allowing them to continue their postseason journey.
According to reports, the meet was held at Highland High School, where the Vikings faced a competitive field of programs from Northwest Indiana.
For the girls’ team, Olivia Olthof led Illiana with a 13th-place finish. Danni Dodge also contributed significantly by securing 20th place, helping the Vikings earn a spot in the Regional competition. On the boys’ side, Mason Drost placed ninth overall. He was followed by Dane Scheeringa in 13th place and Milo Perez in 16th place, resulting in multiple top-20 finishes for Illiana and a strong team performance.
Both Viking teams are set to compete next in the IHSAA Regional meet this Saturday, October 25, at New Prairie. They will aim to advance further to the Semi-State round.
