Illiana Christian High School’s wrestling team delivered a commanding performance, defeating Morton 69-9 in a non-conference boys wrestling dual.
According to the event details, the Vikings hosted the dual on November 26 at Illiana Christian High School. They controlled the meet from the opening weight class and built momentum through consistent bonus-point victories.
The lineup for Illiana Christian excelled across all matches, winning most of them with falls, technical falls, and forfeits to quickly extend their lead. The effort was highlighted by Ben Armstrong at 126 pounds, who entered the matchup as one of the state’s top-ranked wrestlers in his class. His performance helped set the tone for a Vikings team that is gaining confidence early in the season. Strong execution both in neutral positions and on the mat allowed Illiana Christian to maintain pressure throughout the night, limiting Morton’s scoring opportunities. The Vikings also demonstrated quality depth across their lineup, contributing to their substantial team margin.
Illiana Christian is scheduled to return home to face Calumet on Wednesday, December 10, at 6:30 p.m. CST inside the Illiana Main Gym.
