Illiana Christian rebounded in convincing fashion Saturday, sweeping Marquette Catholic 3–0 in a non-conference home match. The Vikings controlled the pace from the start, posting set scores of 25–18, 25–20 and 25–23 to move above .500 on the season.
Junior outside hitter Dorothy Leep paced the attack with 15 kills, consistently finding seams in the Blazers’ defense. Setter Isabella Borrero directed the offense with 17 assists and added three service aces, keeping Marquette on its heels throughout the match. The Vikings’ defense also held steady in key moments, closing out each set with decisive runs.
The victory lifted Illiana Christian to 4–3 overall and erased the sting of a midweek road loss. Head coach’s staff credited the team’s balanced effort, noting improved ball control and more aggressive serving as critical differences.
Illiana will look to continue its momentum Monday when it travels to face Victory Christian Academy at 6 p.m. With a pair of challenging conference matchups looming later in the week, the Vikings are eager to prove they can sustain consistency against a competitive schedule.
