Lowell High School defeated Illiana Christian 3-2 in a closely contested playoff match held at Kankakee Valley High School in Wheatfield, Indiana.
The match took place on October 7, 2025.
The Vikings of Illiana Christian fought back from a first-half deficit by scoring twice in the second half, pushing Lowell to the wire. Illiana Christian’s offense came alive after halftime, demonstrating poise and determination in one of their most spirited performances of the season. Despite their loss, the Vikings exhibited strong teamwork and resilience against a talented Lowell team that capitalized on early scoring opportunities.
Lowell’s attack was led by senior Kaelen Lulinski, who scored two goals. Sophomore Macy Grskovich added another goal to secure Lowell’s three-goal total. Senior Brooke Miller contributed an assist, helping maintain Lowell’s offensive rhythm throughout the match. Sophomore goalkeeper K. Wilczewski anchored the defense with 16 saves, keeping Lowell ahead during Illiana’s late surge.
Illiana Christian showed impressive fight down the stretch by applying pressure and reducing the deficit to one goal in the final minutes but could not find an equalizer before time expired.
Lowell will advance to face Hanover Central on Thursday, October 9, 2025.
