Illiana Christian’s boys wrestling team is preparing for a competitive season with focused practice sessions and preparation in the gym.
The Vikings will commence their competition at the Rolland Beckham Fall Brawl on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Calumet New Tech High School. This event represents one of the first significant challenges of the year and will serve as a valuable benchmark for assessing the team’s early-season progress.
According to head coach David Deboer, his squad comprises a balanced mix of returning wrestlers and developing athletes who are eager to gain match experience and build confidence ahead of the conference slate. Early practices have concentrated on sharpening technique, improving conditioning, and reinforcing discipline—three staples of the Illiana wrestling program.
The Vikings anticipate facing a strong field at Calumet New Tech, which will provide meaningful preparation before Thanksgiving week. During this time, they are scheduled to host Highland Christian and Crown Point Christian Middle School on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. inside the Illiana Main Gym.
