Illiana Christian defeated Calumet New Tech 62–29 in a varsity girls basketball nonconference matchup.
The game took place Jan. 7, 2026, at Calumet New Tech High School in Gary.
Illiana Christian controlled the game from the opening tip, applying defensive pressure and building separation as the night progressed. The Vikings limited Calumet New Tech’s scoring opportunities while executing efficiently on the offensive end, allowing the margin to grow in each quarter. Illiana Christian continued to push the pace after halftime, maintaining control through disciplined half-court play and strong defensive rotations.
Illiana Christian has been led this season by Lauren Paliga, who entered the game averaging a team-high 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest. Keilah Mudde has handled primary ball-distribution duties, averaging 1.8 assists per game, while Sienna Eenigenburg has provided defensive activity with 2.0 steals per game. Kennedy Voss has anchored the interior, averaging 1.0 blocks per contest.
Illiana Christian will return to action Jan. 15 when it travels to face Lake Station Edison in a scheduled 7 p.m. conference matchup.
