Illiana Christian Girls’ Golf Targets Steady Climb Under Coach Kruithof

0Comments

A blend of returning varsity experience and developing young talent has Illiana Christian High School’s girls’ golf team aiming for consistent improvement in the 2025 season. Head coach Jeremiah Kruithof, who also guides the boys’ squad, returns to lead the Vikings with a focus on fundamentals and course confidence.

The program enters the fall bolstered by the school’s recent investment in a state-of-the-art golf simulator, giving players an edge in swing analysis and situational practice regardless of weather. Coach Kruithof plans to use the technology alongside traditional practice rounds to fine-tune approach shots and putting under pressure.

Several upperclassmen bring leadership and familiarity with conference play, while underclass golfers look to make their mark early. Emphasis during summer sessions has been on reading greens, improving distance control, and developing mental resilience on challenging holes.

The Vikings open their season with a series of conference matches in mid-August, followed by key non-conference tournaments that will test consistency against a variety of course styles. With renewed energy, targeted skill work, and Kruithof’s steady direction, Illiana Christian hopes to turn small improvements into competitive results when it matters most.
