The Illiana Christian Vikings girls’ soccer team concluded their 2025 season with an 11-2-2 record, securing the Greater South Shore Conference championship with a flawless 4-0 performance.
The Vikings began their season on August 19 with a 4-1 victory against Kankakee Valley. They quickly emerged as one of Northwest Indiana’s most balanced and disciplined teams.
Illiana’s defense also stood out, conceding only 11 goals throughout the season while achieving multiple shutouts both at home and away. Key victories against Highland, Wheeler, and Andrean showcased the team’s consistency and poise across all phases of play.
In postseason competition, the Vikings participated in the Class 2A Sectional at Hanover Central. They faced Lowell in a challenging match that resulted in a narrow 3-2 loss, concluding their tournament journey.
The Vikings’ successful 2025 campaign was attributed to a collective team effort rooted in chemistry, discipline, and leadership. The team demonstrated they could compete with any opponent in the region and laid a solid foundation for next year’s returning roster.
Looking ahead, Illiana Christian will focus on offseason training and player development with aspirations for another conference title and a deeper postseason run in 2026.
