Illiana Christian’s girls track team showcased a powerful all-around effort at the 2026 Greater South Shore Conference Championships.
The meet was held on Tuesday, May 12, at Gary West Side High School, and the Vikings rose to the occasion with standout performances across every discipline.
Sprinter Jori Davids led the charge with a first-place finish in the 400 meters (1:00.26) and a top-four showing in the 100. Middle-distance strength came from Daniela Dodge and Ellie Ratliff, who swept the top two spots in the 800. Olivia Olthof added a victory in the 1600 (5:31.52), while Allison Helmus dominated the 3200 (12:27.00), supported by teammates in scoring positions.
In hurdles, Olivia Postma and Cadence Knisley secured second and third in the 100 hurdles. Relay depth proved decisive, with Illiana winning both the 4×400 (4:14.32) and 4×800 (10:18.65), plus a runner-up finish in the 4×100. Field events sealed the team’s success: Keilah Mudde swept the high jump (4-8) and long jump (15-8), Reece Tambrini won pole vault (8-6), and Haylee Coffey earned second in both discus and shot put.
Illiana’s scoring strength across sprints, distance, relays, and field events highlighted their depth and resilience, decisively clinching the GSSC championship.
