The Illiana Christian Vikings volleyball team concluded the 2025 season with a commendable record of 27-7 overall and an undefeated 7-0 run in Greater South Shore Conference play, securing the conference championship.
Throughout the fall season, Illiana Christian demonstrated remarkable consistency, achieving multiple winning streaks and maintaining a dominant home record of 11-1. The team’s balanced offense and aggressive defense resulted in decisive victories over Lake Station Edison, Whiting, River Forest, Griffith, and Wheeler. Notable wins against Munster, Hanover Central, and Hammond Bishop Noll underscored the Vikings’ capability to excel under pressure.
In postseason play, Illiana Christian sustained their momentum by sweeping Kankakee Valley and Lowell in sectional competition before narrowly losing a hard-fought 3-2 match to Hanover Central in the championship round. Despite this close defeat, the Vikings’ 81 set wins and +61 point differential marked one of the program’s strongest seasons.
The 2025 campaign was characterized by leadership, depth, and a commitment to excellence that guided Illiana through one of its most challenging schedules. The Vikings’ efforts on both sides of the net and their ability to secure close matches earned them respect throughout the region.
