This spring, Illiana Christian High School’s boys’ golf program tees off its 2025 campaign under the steady guidance of the coaching staff, leading the varsity squad with a focus on precision, consistency, and resilience.
A recent $8,000 donation has equipped the team with a state-of-the-art golf simulator, giving players the opportunity to refine swing mechanics, practice course strategy, and train indoors regardless of weather conditions. Athletic Director Darren DeBoer noted that the technology makes practice more engaging, and the staff sees strong potential for its impact on performance throughout the season.
Returning letter winners are set to anchor the lineup, while underclassmen are competing for varsity spots through summer rounds and simulator sessions. Training has emphasized sharpening the short game, improving club selection under pressure, and mastering course management skills to maximize scoring opportunities.
The season opens with non-conference matches in March, providing an early test of form and competitiveness. Home meets at Palmira Golf Course will offer the advantage of familiar terrain and supportive crowds.
Armed with innovative tools, dedicated leadership, and a determined mindset, the Vikings aim for higher conference finishes and a stronger postseason run, blending tradition with forward-thinking preparation.
