Illiana Christian completed postseason sectional competition with three wrestlers earning advancement to the IHSAA girls wrestling regional round, while a fourth secured an alternate spot.
The IHSAA Girls Sectional was held at Illiana Christian High School, where the Lady Vikings competed on their home mats against a full postseason field.
Gabriella led the Vikings with a third-place finish, securing her advancement through the medal rounds. Liv followed with a fourth-place finish after battling through the placement matches to extend her postseason run. McKenzie also placed fourth, earning her spot at regionals following multiple wins in the consolation bracket.
Alanna finished fifth overall and was named a regional alternate, keeping her postseason eligibility intact should a spot open. Each wrestler competed through multiple matches, navigating the pressure of sectional play while contributing to Illiana Christian’s overall team result.
The sectional results capped a successful postseason step for the Lady Vikings, with multiple athletes advancing and gaining valuable experience at a critical stage of the tournament series.
Illiana Christian will continue postseason competition at the IHSAA girls wrestling regionals in Plymouth.
