The Illiana Christian girls basketball team earned a 53–33 victory over Lake Station Edison in a conference matchup.
The game was played Jan. 15 at Lake Station Edison High School in Lake Station, Indiana, as the Vikings traveled on the road to face the Fighting Eagles.
Illiana Christian controlled the pace from the opening quarter and built separation with balanced scoring and strong work on the glass. Sophomore Lauren Paliga led the Vikings with a team-high 24 points, attacking the lane and finishing through contact while also pulling down rebounds on both ends. Olivia Olthof added 10 points and worked the interior, while senior Kennedy Voss contributed six points and was active on the boards. Senior S. Eenigenburg chipped in eight points and helped set the tone defensively, and the Vikings continued to rotate multiple players to maintain pressure throughout four quarters.
Illiana Christian finished with a strong rebounding advantage and forced turnovers that led to transition opportunities, limiting Edison’s ability to establish consistent offensive rhythm. The Vikings’ defense held the Fighting Eagles to 33 points, allowing single-digit scoring in two of the four quarters.
Illiana Christian’s balanced scoring and defensive pressure carried the Vikings to a complete team performance in the conference road victory.
