The Portage Indians secured a victory over the Illiana Christian Vikings with a score of 44-38 in a non-conference girls basketball game.
The game took place on Tuesday, November 18, at Illiana Christian High School.
According to the game’s summary, Portage started strong by edging out Illiana Christian 10–8 in the first quarter and maintained their defensive strength throughout the game. By halftime, the Indians led with a score of 22–18. In the third quarter, Portage increased their lead to 34–28 and concluded the game with a decisive 10–4 run in the fourth quarter, securing their victory. Mia Thompson was the top performer for Portage with 17 points, while Sarah Lee added 9 points. For the Vikings, Emma Johnson led with 12 points but could not overcome Portage’s consistent pressure.
The upcoming schedule sees Illiana Christian traveling to face Griffith on Tuesday, November 25, at 7 p.m.
