The game, held at Illiana Christian High School, saw the Vikings push Crown Point to five sets before falling 3-2, according to MaxPreps. The matchup was described as one of Illiana Christian’s most complete performances of the season, with both teams trading set victories throughout the contest. The Vikings captured the first set 25-21 but dropped the next two frames by scores of 22-25 and 15-25. They responded with a 25-20 win in the fourth set to force a decisive fifth frame, ultimately losing 15-8 according to MaxPreps.
Individual performances included Sam Kramer leading the offense with 19 kills and Arend van Belle adding 10 kills. Jacob Rozendal contributed 40 assists and 13 digs, while Gavin Voss recorded four aces from the service line. Despite out-killing (46 to 44) and out-acing (10 to 7) their opponents, Illiana Christian could not secure the win.
Looking ahead, Illiana Christian is scheduled for another home non-conference match against Hammond Bishop Noll on Monday, April 20 at 6 p.m. In their previous meeting with Hammond Bishop Noll Warriors on May 3, 2025, the Vikings were defeated by a score of 2-1.
