Illiana Christian’s varsity softball team enters the upcoming season aiming to build on an 18-10 campaign in 2025, when the Vikings finished 9-1 in Greater South Shore Conference play to place second in the league standings.
The season took place during the spring of 2025 in Dyer, Indiana, where Illiana Christian compiled a 7-4 record at home and a 10-5 mark on the road.
The Vikings combined strong pitching with consistent offense, scoring 214 runs while allowing 109. Illiana Christian opened the year with a decisive 16-3 win at Portage and later earned conference victories over Lake Station Edison, River Forest, Griffith, Whiting, and Hammond Bishop Noll. Several games were tightly contested, including a 6-5 extra-inning loss to Wheeler and narrow wins over Valparaiso (4-3) and Hanover Central (8-5). The team also recorded dominant performances such as a 19-0 victory against Lake Station Edison, a 17-0 win over River Forest, and a 20-0 shutout of Hammond Bishop Noll.
Late in the season, the Vikings added quality wins against Hobart and Highland before their postseason run ended with a 6-5 loss to Hanover Central. Illiana Christian finished the year ranked No. 69 in Indiana.
The Vikings are scheduled to open the 2026 season on the road at Bradley-Bourbonnais on April 9 at 5 p.m., looking to contend for a conference title and make a deeper postseason run.
