Illiana Christian High School’s girls soccer program is preparing for the 2025 season with a blend of returning leadership and promising young talent. The coaching staff returns to guide the Vikings in their push for a deeper postseason presence.
Last season, Illiana finished with a 10-7-1 overall record, averaging 2.6 goals per game while allowing just 1.5. The defense recorded six shutouts, including a 1-0 victory over Hammond Bishop Noll in sectional play before bowing out in a hard-fought loss to Griffith. That resilience has become a focal point in summer workouts, with emphasis on conditioning, quicker ball movement, and sharper passing to create more consistent scoring opportunities.
Several key returners anchor the roster, including midfielders who can control possession and a back line that thrives under pressure. Younger players are expected to step into larger roles, particularly in the attacking third, to boost the team’s 2024 goal total of 47.
The Vikings open August 20 at home against Highland, then travel to Kankakee Valley and Andrean for early challenges. With balanced scoring potential, a disciplined defense, and a unified locker room, Illiana enters 2025 ready to combine skill, effort, and chemistry for a memorable campaign.
